Coping Strategies
Distraction - absorb your mind into something else, only good for short term to get you through the crisis
Grounding - get out of your head and tune into your body and your environment, notice things around you
Emotional Release - Let it out! It’s okay to cry or scream
Thought Challenge - redirect your negative thoughts, trying to be more logical can help reduce emotion
Self Love - take care of yourself
Access to higher self - connect with others around you
REMEMBER
You are not alone
Love does not end with death
Talk about your grief
Be tolerant of you physical and psychological limits
Eliminate unnecessary stress
Be with supportive comforting people
Mention the name of the person that died
Do what is right for you during the holidays and special days
